Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory
The original two rooms of the observatory, at right, were built in 1987. The new wing, left, houses the Brashear 11-Inch Refractor and was built in 1995. It first was used for a public star party -- Wagman Winterfest -- in February, 1996, when the AAAP was host to more than 350 visitors!
The AAAP thanks Cathy T. Gianella, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette staff artist, and free-lance artist Wendy Gollnitz, who collaborated on the drawing of the completed N.E. Wagman Observatory.
